Why is there a weird ringing sound in ear?

Question by Seth: Why is there a weird ringing sound in ear?
I can hear this quiet ringing that I mostly notice when its quiet. Its kind of like the ringing sound you get after you go to a concert, but its quieter. Anyone know what this is, or how to make it go away?

It could be one of two things.
Tinnitus is the best guess as your description fits it perfectly. It is caused by the loss of the ability to hear certain tones. Usually this is from loud noises or old age. Once it happens, it is permanent, the only cure is a hearing aid.

The second is the door bell buzzer is stuck. Get it repaired.
