Where can I purchase tiny flashing red lights powered by hearing aid batteries with cost being considered?

Question by wood_boat: Where can I purchase tiny flashing red lights powered by hearing aid batteries with cost being considered?
I need about 100 of them. I’m looking for something SIMILAR to the flashing lights seen used in supermarket displays, but the entire package must be very small and compact.
Each light and battery must be usable individually, and not as a series.

Does each light have to be powered individually?
If they don’t, then buy the LEDs in bulk and have someone help you build a power supply – any first year engineering student should be capable of creating such circuit (they find it to be a fun project).
You can find the hardware you need at http://www.jameco.com
