Ok, But Amplifies All Sounds,
These work (I only needed to wear one) but amplify all sounds which is a problem for me. I guess they would be fine for watching TV or something like that but for someone like me that has trouble picking out a conversation where there is background noise, amplifying all sounds does not help me.
They fit well into my ear and were surprisingly comfortable!
I need something better than this but still, for the price, they are a bargain!

work fine,
The ear buds work fine, more than I expected. I have no complaints, for the price it is hard to go wrong although they are dark green and look unusual in places like the restaurant, I can hear again. Thinking of trying to color them

They don’t work.,
I decided to give these plugs a try.
I put them in and could hear just fine. I then turned them on and could still hear fine, but with an electronic hiss.
These things are supposed to cut out at 85dB, but I cant tell if the do because their sound reduction ability is next to nothing. I tested them at the range today with my Walther P22. The first shot sounded like I wasn’t wearing any ear protection. For the second shot, I turned them off but it didn’t seem to make a difference. I them put my cheap yet functional electronic muffs from Caldwell and enjoyed shooting the rest of my ammo.
SSI markets these to hunters and shooters as hearing protection. These are appealing to sportsmen because they have the features of electronic muffs without the bulk. Electronic muffs allow a shooter to hear quite well, but then block loud noises like gun shots. The downside to muffs is that they are large and heavy, and often get in the way when shooting longuns. Ear plugs don’t interfere with stocks on rifles and shotguns, and ones with the features of electronic muffs would be a nice thing to have. These SSI plugs seem too good to be true and they are.
Don’t waste your money on SSI’s crappy plugs, they don’t work. SSI does make a larger behind the ear model that may work better because there is more room for better electronics and sound insulation. Someone else can try those though, I don’t want to give them any more of my money unless I know their product functions as advertised.
