Question by ukgirl53: Is it common for an infant to fail the prescreen and second hearing test?
This is for a newborn hearing test.
failed both hearing tests in the hosptial and released to see a specialist. Is this common?

I heard it was. My baby passed the first time, but in the hospital when they were doing it, I remember asking if it was common for babies to fail. The lady said it was, and they usually pass the following couple of days before they leave the hospital.

    My son failed the test twice. They did the test one last time before we left and he passed. At almost 11 months old he does not show any indication of hearing difficulties. So yes it is possible.

    my daughter’s right ear failed… but since i was there for 5 days (csection) they tested her again.. she passed
