Is there a lab test to determine the minimum caloric intake needed for an individual?

Question by DP: Is there a lab test to determine the minimum caloric intake needed for an individual?
I’ve heard that there is a lab test that can determine the minimal amount of calories that someone needs to keep going without weight gain or loss… I’ve heard that this is why some have higher caloric needs, while others have less, destroying the myth that each person needs the same amount of calories daily. Is there an actual test for this?

Not that I have ever heard of. However, there are all sorts of online sites you can go to, fill in the information requested and it will tell you a recommended caloric intake.

Here are some of those sites:http://www.inch-aweigh.com/dcn.php
