Is there a free program or class my wife and me to take for sign language, I am going deaf?

It is getting harder to hear, even with the most expensive digital hearing aids. How good is the cochlear implant and how do I get it?

It depends where you live. There are some free classes, and in my area, you pay for the courses that are taught in schools/community centers. They’re usually about £60 or less for the whole course, and of course concessions can be made. You would have to show proof of it though (like letters).

Expensive doesn’t always mean high quality. Have you tried companies such as Phonak? It depends on what type of HA you need.

I must tell you that the Deaf (big d) community frowns upon cochlear implants because they feel that being deaf is a part of their identity and culture and to have cochlear implants robs people from that. I assume you’ve acquired hearing loss so I’m not entirely sure.. But, if you want the CI, then please be definitely sure because there is no going back. Weigh up the advantages and disadvantages. I think your audiologist would have to see if you qualify for CI (it’s mainly for moderate to profound hearing loss).
