Is it possible to comparison shop for hearing aids?

Question by Q&A Queen: Is it possible to comparison shop for hearing aids?
I just found I need ’em. BUMMER. But they will run me into the thousands and my insurance won’t cover it. Any thoughts suggestions on price comparison or other assistance I might get?

Thanks, in advance, for your responses.

Check with your doctor for suggested places to order them and compare prices.

Most places carry the same quality hearing aid for a comparable price so if you go “price shopping”- be sure you are shopping for the same thing- same brand, same channels and bands and same features. However… you shouldn’t shop for hearing aids- shop for the “audiologist”.

A high end hearing aid can only work as good as the person who programs it… they can save you money in the long run because they will suggest a hearing aid that meets your budget and effectively explain what you will be sacrificing by going “cheaper”. Remember that you get what you pay for and with hearing aids- it is no different. Shop for audiologists, find one that you feel comfortable working with and then trust that professional’s recommendation.

When you go for cheap then the quality will also suffer. So i feel not to compromise on price.I have an another idea. If you have patience you can learn to recognize the sound through the lips movements. I am deaf and i don’t know any sign language nor i use any ear aid. I can understand ninety percent by reading lips movement. Don’t worry.God is with you. Trust in Him, and dare to face the problems of life. Wish you a happy christmas.
