How can online Hearing Planet practice hearing aid medicine without a license? Is that legal?

Question by American_: How can online Hearing Planet practice hearing aid medicine without a license? Is that legal?
They took advantage of my grandma buying fancy $ 7K hearing aids on line then didn’t send anything while promising they were on the way. We had to threaten lawsuit (which isn’t feasible since they’re out of state) to get some scratched ones someone else returned and the mfg says they didn’t know about to fix but paid for new ones. We’re afraid to send them back to exchange or repair, without getting her money first or we’ll have nothing. What can we do now? We just want a refund return so she can go to a qualified place you can walk into.
Grandma can’t afford to just walk away. She thought she was saving $ 500 going the cheap online Hearing Planet way but lost $ 7K.

They are only selling hearing aids, not practicing medicine. But see if you can contact a consumer protection agency for help.

Wow, that’s a crying shame. Most states regulate the hearing aid industry through licensing to protect consumers, especially oldsters.
Have you tried filing a complaint with your state hearing aid department?
If they won’t touch it, you could see if their local newspaper has a consumer help column where the local exposure might make them rectify your situation.
