I had a pair of the old Earglasses (AKA Earlenses) and found them very useful for improving my hearing in any number of situations, particularly if you are in a noisy envirnment. The new, improved version is even better. By facing the person or speaker you want to hear, you increase the voulme of that source and at the same time reduce background noise. My hearing is still pretty good, but is still nice to know that I can have this sort of boost to my hearing whenever I want. As with reading glasses, Earglasses are inexpensive enough to keep several pairs in various locations, so that they are handy whenever you need them. This is a great invention which I really appreciate.

I’m a lifelong pro electric guitarist. My hearing loss has made many conversations a challenge, and pulling dialog out of modern films and TV programs is difficult even with significant volume. I ordered four sets of Earglasses a month or so ago. They have changed just about everything.

Conversations in noisy groups of people can now be isolated by simply looking at the person who is speaking. Movies and TV are much more understandable; my TV volume is set much lower now. Listening to speakers in church is better when done at fairly short range; when too far away the sound diffuses and defeats the effect somewhat. Nature sounds are nicely enhanced. The only thing I don’t enjoy is listening to music, as the enhanced midrange is less pleasant to my ears.

Unlike some of the simple amplifier products, a sudden loud noise does not produce ear pain as there is no compression happening. Earglasses work by enhancing the part of the spectrum within which consonants resonate, not by making the person speaking sound louder.

Being the first person to wear them in groups of people is good for a few laughs and a lot of comments, but letting people try them out produces some amazement. I have not used the adhesive as the natural fit works well on my ears.

I ordered four sets. One stays home, one is in the car, one has been given away. I am ordering more to give to friends who need them. Customer service was perfect on my first order.
